Summer Catch Up

So it's officially September and it's been just over a month since my last post, fall is almost here and it's been a crazy busy summer. I haven't been totally slacking. I did do a lot and take photos for blog posts but now it's a matter of finding the time to write them.  Check out what I've been up to this summer.

We had a rough start this summer we lost this gorgeous fur baby we've had for 9 years to cancer. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think of him. And several times each week our oldest asks when he is coming home or informs us that since he's a superhero he can save him. (Every time I have to try not to break down in front of him. It's one of the sweetest things I've ever heard.)

Like a lot of moms I have neglected myself to take care of my wonderful family. And I decided that it was time to get back to something I love...running. I ran track all through middle school and high school (with a few college offers), continued running in college when volleyball wasn't in season (sometimes I would run during the season when I needed to clear my head after a practice or match), and I also trained with my brother and his cross country team in the summers through high school.  I've missed that time to myself and way to push my self to go a little further down the road. So I purchased some sweet new kicks and have been out pounding the pavement. I even competed in a 5k and finished 4th in my age group. Once volleyball is over I can't wait to start racing some more.

A good majority of our summer we were lucky enough to spend on the lake! Not just the lake but the lake with a pool!

There's nothing better than spending summer with family and friends while out in the sunshine.

We also did a lot of paddle boarding!

I mean a lot.

Even in the rain.  We couldn't get enough. I don't have any good photos but our oldest went out with me most of the time.

But starting in July my second job started back up! The kids and I have been back in the gym everyday since the beginning of July. Practices, matches, and tournaments. It's a really busy time of year for us. I live in workout clothes. And dinner is often made in the afternoon so the kids can eat while we're at the gym. But I wouldn't give it up for anything!

On top of everything else is all the work I've been doing. I love my Silhouette Cameo. I can't even begin to tell you how many decals I have made over the summer.

Not only decals but shirts too. There were 20 of these with individual monograms on the front of every shirt!

So it's been crazy busy here but I love the chaos that is our life! I promise there are some blog posts coming up as soon as I can sit down and find the time to write them all! I hope you took the time to enjoy the summer with your loved ones as well!

What is your favorite memory from this summer?
